Maybe you’ve always thought self care was for when you had free time…but there’s no such thing as “free time”.

In the short-term we figure we can just push through, even if it means we’re tired, both physically and emotionally, and even if it sometimes makes it hard to concentrate or react to our co-workers or loved-ones with kindness.

But sometimes pushing just isn’t enough and we end up feeling depleted, or worse, it ends up negatively affecting our relationships, our emotions, our confidence, and our health.

People are suffering anxiety, depression, a complete lack of focus, and some serious problems getting along with others.

This isn’t what life is supposed to look like!

Beginning February 7th, every Wednesday for six weeks you’ll receive a lesson based on one of the Five Principles and Eleven Skills of Self Care and Mindful Living delivered with loving care from me to you. Each lesson includes a combination of guided audios, videos, and PDFs of short, simple Self Care Breathing Breaks, Self Care Movement Breaks, self care journal prompts, and additional mindfulness-based self care skills to support you in caring kindly for yourself in a practical, slow and steady progression. Between Weeks 3 and 4 I’ll offer a live Self Care Support Coaching webinar.

A reminder to go at your own pace, and apply both effort and ease into this program. There is no ‘behind’ in Self Care Moments – you have lifetime access and can take, and retake this program as many times as you need, or want to.

Week 1: Connect to The Moment

  • I’ll share with you what it means to Connect to the Moment and how simple it can be to bring self care to your life using the basics of what I call The Body, Mind, Breath Connection
  • You’ll learn the self care skill Pause and Breathe, and receive two guided audio programs: a 10 second self care breathing break and a 2 minute breathing break that you can download and listen to anytime to help you release stress and anxiety and connect to the moment
  • You’ll learn the self care skill Transition with Awareness and receive two videos where I guide you through a seated self care movement break that you can do at your desk, and a standing self care movement break – both of these self care breaks are each less than five minutes
  • You’ll begin to develop your self care routine with practical ways to squeeze a few seconds to a few moments of daily self care into your life

Week 2: Practice Kindness to Yourself and Others

  • You’ll learn the self care skills Notice the Good and Make Healing Choices to support you in practicing greater kindness and patience toward yourself and others
  • You’ll learn to notice and adjust your thoughts to be more focused, kinder, less judgemental, and more at ease with the practice of a new self care breathing break audio
  • You’ll receive a video to guide you through a few moments to rest and renew with a gentle self care movement break to soothe your emotions, refocus your mind, and ease physical tension
  • You’ll begin to deepen your self care routine by adding a self care moment to your morning
  • You’ll practice mindful writing and be encouraged to reflect on and journal about your awarenesses, challenges, successes, and questions

Weeks 3 and 4: Seek Balance in All Areas of Life

To support you in seeking balance in this program, you have 2 weeks to practice and implement these skills, and continue to practice previously learned self care skills with the added support of the Self Care Support webinar between Weeks 3 and 4. Relax and enjoy the moments…

  • You’ll learn the self care skills Ask Reflective Questions, Apply Effort and Ease, and Develop Soft Strength to support you in seeking balance in your life
  • You’ll practice mindful listening and learn to listen to your body and honor your needs to help you react with greater patience, compassion, and clarity in stressful situations
  • You’ll receive 2 new self care breathing break audios: one to support you in calming your body and mind and emotions, another to support you in energizing and awakening your body and mind
  • You’ll receive 2 new self care movement break videos: a strengthening self care movement break to help you develop physical and emotional balance, strength, and energy that takes less than 10 minutes, and a brief restful self care break
  • You’ll be encouraged to practice a moment or two (or three or four) of self care before going to bed to support a restful nights sleep and greater mental focus

Week 5: Cultivate Gratitude for Life Within You and Life Around You

  • You’ll learn the self care skills Expand Your View and Connect with Nature and how these skills can support you in caring more kindly for yourself and our world
  • You’ll learn to look more deeply to recognize and appreciate meaningful moments that you may have previously rushed by
  • You’ll receive a new self care breathing break audio that will support you in letting go of physical, mental, and emotional tension
  • You’ll receive a new self care movement break to help you cultivate greater gratitude for yourself and our natural world, while strengthening your body and mind
  • You’ll learn a short simple technique to support you in acknowledging what you are grateful for in yourself, your life, others, and in our world, and be encouraged to record these moments in your self care journal
  • I’ll share a short video blog of a personal experience I had that helped me shift the way I view ‘unkind’ people and helped me to deepen my gratitude practice

Week 6: Empower Yourself and Others to Live Mindfully

  • You’ll learn the self care skills Seek and Share Self Care Support, and Take Courageous Actions
  • We’ll review and practice many of the self care skills from previous lessons and practice connecting these skills to create longer self care breaks. You are ready for this now – and so well worth it
  • You’ll receive a way to practice mindful eating to bring self care and self-awareness into how you nourish your body
  • You’ll receive two new self care movement breaks: a mindful walking activity to use both as a meditation and during your daily life, and a standing self care flow to build confidence, clarity, and connection
  • For those interested, you’ll learn a few simple ways to encourage others to care kindly for themselves as a way to lead by example and contribute to caring kindly for our World
  • You’ll be encouraged to reflect on and journal about your self care journey as a way to acknowledge and appreciate yourself for how much you’ve grown in our time together
  • What’s next? Now that you are nearing the end of this piece of you self care journey, I’ll share free resources to support you in continuing your practice of self care and mindful living
